Miss Norah Aimee Watt Smyth
Honora (Norah) Aimee Geraldine Watt Smyth was born on December 20, 1875, in Amritsar, Punjab, India, to John Watt Smyth, a judge in the Bengal Civil Service, and Mary Annabella Charlotte Smyth. She was raised alongside her half-sister, Mary Eveline Smyth, and her three brothers: Henry John Watt Smyth; Lieutenant Colonel Gerald James Watt Smyth, DSO; and Austin Edward Arthur Watt Smyth, CBE. On August 25, 1908, Norah married Charles Frances Massy Swynnerton. The couple had three sons: Sir Roger John Massy Swynnerton, Gerald Henry Swynnerton, and Brian FitzAlan Swynnerton.
Norah was a member of the Society of Women Journalists from 1904 to 1907 while residing in Duneira, Larne, Ireland. She was proposed for membership by her aunt, Aimee Watt Smyth. Her cousin, Gladys Watt Smyth, was also a member of the Society.
Norah died in London on January 14, 1963, at the age of 87.
