Miss Gladys Watt Smyth

Gladys Watt Smyth was born in 1888 in South Kensington, London, to journalist and author Aimee Evans Watt Smyth and Thomas Watt Smyth. Her father was a High Court judge in the Bengal Civil Service in Punjab, India and wrote the handbook, Acts and Regulations Applicable to the Punjab. She was an only child and never married.

Gladys was proposed for membership in the Society of Women Journalists by Dawson Williams, editor of the British Medical Journal. She was a member of the Society from 1904 to 1909 along with her mother, Aimee Watt Smyth, and her cousin, Norah Watt Smyth.

Gladys died on January 29, 1950 at the age of 61.
