Miss Ada Sophia Timbrell

Ada Sophia Timbrell was born circa 1859 in Calcutta, India, to Charles William, a First Lieutenant in the East India Company’s Bengal Artillery, and Agnes Timbrell. Her father died when she was an infant, and she, her mother, and her older sister Alice moved to England following his death. A journalist and artist, Timbrell was a member of the Society of Women Journalists from 1910 to 1912. 

Timbrell died on October 14, 1935, at the age of 76.
